Roman Hans Gröger (born March 2, 1970 in Vienna ) is an Austrian historian .

Life

Between 1980 and 1988 Gröger attended grammar school in Vienna 17 , Geblergasse, and then began studying business administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business .

In the 1989/90 academic year he moved to the University of Vienna and studied history . In 1993 he passed the second diploma examination (diploma thesis: Vienna from the federal capital to the provincial city in the Third Reich ) with Bertrand Michael Buchmann . He finished the subsequent doctoral studies in the summer of 1996, after writing the dissertation “The first 100 years. The influence of the French Revolution in 1789 on the Austrian labor movement until 1889 ”.

Before completing his doctorate , Gröger entered the federal civil service and worked for two years as a consultant in the personnel department at the University of Vienna . In 1997 he was transferred to the Austrian State Archives , General Administrative Archives Department. Here he is responsible for the files of the internal state administration, the railway system and agriculture.
