Josef Cierocki

Josef Cierocki (born October 26, 1886 in Mirchau , West Prussia , † December 13, 1960 in Konstanz ) was a German CDU politician .

Life and work

After attending primary school, Cierocki, who was a Roman Catholic, learned the craft of brewing beer. From 1905 to 1907 he did his military service. He then worked in the profession he had learned until the First World War , in which he served as a soldier (last rank: sergeant). From 1919 to 1933 he was the full-time trade union secretary of the Christian Transport Workers 'Union in Gdansk , then until 1939 union secretary of the Catholic workers' associations in the diocese of Gdansk . In addition, from 1919 to 1945 he was managing director of the life insurance company "Isar" in Gdansk. Between 1935 and 1944 he was imprisoned several times for political reasons.

After the Second World War , Cierocki came to Eutin as a displaced person , where he settled as a self-employed businessman. Cierocki was a member of the Danzig Association . He was married and had three children.

Political party

Cierocki belonged to the ZENTRUM in the Free City of Danzig . After 1945 he joined the CDU in Schleswig-Holstein .

MP

From 1920 to 1934 Cierocki was a member of the People's Day and the City Council of the Free City of Danzig. Since 1946 he was a city councilor in Eutin and a member of the district council in the Eutin district (today Ostholstein district ).

Cierocki was 1947-1950 deputy in the parliament of Schleswig-Holstein . The Landtag elected him a member of the first Federal Assembly , which elected Theodor Heuss as Federal President on September 12, 1949 .
