Josef Gerhartz (singer, 1865)

Josef Gerhartz ( August 9, 1865 in Cologne - February 19, 1918 in Leipzig ) was a German opera singer ( tenor ) and singing teacher .

Life

Gerhartz was trained in his hometown as well as in Berlin and Vienna and began his stage career in Lübeck . He then worked in Braunschweig , Olmütz , Brno and Darmstadt , where he was active as a heroic and lyrical tenor. “Manrico”, “ Joseph ”, “Lyonel”, “Max”, “ Tamino ”, “Stradelli”, “ Lohengrin ” and “ Raoul ” were excellent performances by this capable singer.

Most recently he worked as a singing teacher in Leipzig.
