Josef Grabmeier

Josef Grabmeier (* 1927 in Höfen) is a Catholic prelate in Regensburg .

biography

Grabmeier spent his school days up to fourth grade in Teisbach . Later he passed the Abitur in the boys' seminar in Straubing . In the last years of World War II he was called up for military service. After his return, Grabmeier went to Regensburg and studied religion. On March 19, 1952 Josef Grabmeier was ordained a priest in Regensburg by Archbishop Michael Buchberger . After chaplain positions in Cham and Selb, he became parish curate in Mietraching . Later he was assessor at the Catholic child welfare in Regensburg, later then pastor in Klardorf and dean in the dean's office in Schwandorf.

In 1977 he was appointed to the Ordinariate in Regensburg as cathedral chapter . In 1988 he was made a prelate . In 2012 he celebrated his 60th anniversary as a priest.

Grabmeier has been helping out as a retired pastor since 1997. With great effort he led the editing of the "Directorium Spirituale". He is the representative of the diocese of Regensburg for the aid organization for the Catholic Church in the countries of Scandinavia and member of the board of St. Ansgarwerk e. V. He is also a member of the Marian Congregation for Men and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Forum of German Catholics .
