Josef Gruber (* 1935 in Gstreifet ) is a German economist and university professor .

Life

From 1955 to 1957 he attended the University of Applied Sciences in Schönbrunn near Landshut . In 1959 he passed the special matriculation examination ( Abitur ) in Stuttgart . From 1957 to 1961 he studied agriculture at the Technical University of Munich and from 1961 to 1965 as a second degree in the USA (graduate studies in economics, statistics, econometrics and agricultural economics at Iowa State University . After receiving his doctorate in 1965 as a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from Iowa State University, the second doctorate in 1967 at the Technical University of Munich; fellow of Cusanuswerk , the WK Kellogg Foundation and the Volkswagen Foundation and the Habilitation in 1968 at the Technical University of Munich he was from 1965 to 1971 assistant lecturer , lecturer and Head of department for market Analysis and ( Econometric) market research at the Institute for Agricultural Policy and Agricultural Markets at the Technical University of Munich. From 1972 to 1976 he taught as a professor for statistics and econometrics at the University of Kiel (here first professor who was primarily responsible for the new subject econometrics). From 1977 to 2001 he was he holds the chair for statistics and econometrics at the F ernUniversität Hagen (from September 1, 1976 to January 5, 1977, substitute for this chair). Since 1992 he has been a member of the Academy of Technological Sciences of Ukraine. On January 28, 1999, he was awarded an honorary doctorate (Dr. hc) from the Wadym-Hetman National Economic University of Kiev .
