Josef Hromádka (born September 25, 1936 in Hodslavice ) is a Czech Protestant clergyman. He was Synod Senior of the Evangelical Church of the Bohemian Brethren and Deputy Prime Minister of Czechoslovakia .

Josef Hromádka was pastor of the Evangelical Church of the Bohemian Brethren. In the years from 1987 to 1990 he was the synod senior of this church, i.e. its highest representative. From 1988 to 1989 he was Deputy Prime Minister in the Ladislav Adamec government and from 1989 to 1990 also Deputy Prime Minister in the Marián Čalfa I government , with a special focus on the interests of culture, education, health care and social organizations and the churches.

Hromádka worked as a pastor from 1962 to 1979 in Šternberk , from 1979 to 1987 in Olomouc and from 1991 to 2006 in Frýdek-Místek . Hromádka was also a senior in the Moravian-Silesian Seniorat (1978-1981) and Deputy Synod Senior (1981-1987).

In the 1980s, Hromádka made several trips to the USA, where he lectured at the universities of New York , Princeton , Chicago , Evanston and Pittsburgh .

Today Josef Hromádka is retired.
