Josef Kühschelm (born July 27, 1855 in Ulrichskirchen , Lower Austria ; † January 11, 1908 in Guntersdorf , Lower Austria; also Joseph Kühschelm ) was a Roman Catholic priest , member of the Reichsrat and member of the state parliament .

Life

Josef Kühschelm came from a rural family, entered the boys' seminar in Vienna in 1868 and graduated from the Piarist High School in 1874 . He was ordained a priest on July 25, 1878 and then worked as a cooperator in Hausleiten . In 1881 he was appointed as prefect of studies at the fe boys' seminar, which had been moved to Oberhollabrunn . In 1886 he became pastor of Guntersdorf and in 1900 provisional dean of Sitzendorf an der Schmida .

He advocated further training for the rural population, passed on his knowledge of horticulture and beekeeping, and implemented the drainage of the municipal area and stream regulations. He promoted the merger in the Lower Austrian Farmers' Union, founded a Raiffeisenkasse and promoted the establishment of warehouse cooperatives and the establishment of a wine school in Oberhollabrunn.

In 1901 he was elected to represent the district of Oberhollabrunn- Ravelsbach - Retz in the Reichsrat and from 1902 he was a member of the district of Oberhollabrunn- Haugsdorf in the Lower Austrian state parliament.

He was awarded honorary citizenship by 52 parishes and was a bearer of the Franz Joseph Order .
