Josef Krasenbrink

Josef Krasenbrink OMI (born February 20, 1933 in Bocholt ; † April 12, 2008 in Mainz ) was a lecturer in church history , university pastor and, since 1979, rector of the Rochusberg Oblate Monastery and rector and preacher of the St. Rochus Chapel pilgrimage church in Bingen am Rhein.

Life

Born on February 20, 1933, Josef Krasenbrink entered the Order of the Oblates of the Immaculate Virgin Mary in 1953 . In 1959 he was ordained a priest and was then released to study church history. From 1961 to 1968 he studied at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and was assistant to the famous church historian Hubert Jedin . From 1968 to 1972 he lectured at the University of Fulda and from 1969 to 1978 he was a student pastor in Mainz . He also had teaching positions at the Philosophical-Theological College of the Pallottines in Vallendar and the Philosophical-Theological College of the Steyler Missionaries in Sankt Augustin . Since 1979 Krasenbrink was rector and preacher of the pilgrimage church St. Rochuskapelle in Bingen am Rhein .

In addition to his sermons in the St. Rochus Chapel, Krasenbrink was also attracted by his Friday evening lectures in the Hildegard Forum on various topics such as: B. Hildegard von Bingen known.

On March 20, 2009 a street on Rochusberg in Bingen was renamed "Pater-Dr.-Josef-Krasenbrink-Allee".
