Josef Oberhollenzer

Josef Oberhollenzer (born November 22, 1955 in St. Peter , Ahrntal , South Tyrol ) is a South Tyrolean author .

life and work

Josef Oberhollenzer studied at the University of Innsbruck and completed his studies in 1986 with a dissertation on CVs in the literature of the seventies. On the question of their constituent factors - using the example of Franz Innerhofer's novel "Schöne Tage", Thomas Bernhard's "The cause. A hint", Peter Handke's story "Desireless misfortune" . He published his texts first in newspapers , magazines and on the radio . In 1994 his first book, a collection of poems and short prose , was published with the title in the cup opposite . His second book followed in 1999, a collection of short prose stories, entitled What is on Earth . In spring 2010, Folio Verlag published his work Der Traumklauber .

2018 he came with his novel Sültzrather to the long list of the German Book Prize .

Oberhollenzer follows the tradition of Norbert Conrad Kaser , the most famous South Tyrolean poet (consistent lower case and criticism of the “beautiful, ideal world” of South Tyrol).
