Profile career
Josef Schleinkofer joined the professional boxer at the beginning of 1935. He fought his first fight on February 1, 1935 in Berlin. He came in the lightweight to a point victory over Rudi Kretzschmar, Dresden. On May 10, 1935, in Munich, he defeated Franz Dübbers from Cologne, a boxer who was very well-known at the time, who had become European champion of amateur boxers in the featherweight division in 1927 and who was also the German champion of professional lightweight boxers in 1931. At the time of the fight against Josef Schleinkofer, however, he had already given up this title. On June 14, 1935, Josef Schleinkofer defeated Richard Stegemann from Berlin, who had become German lightweight professional boxer champion in 1934 in a non-title fight, on points in Munich.
In Germany, Josef Schleinkofer only competed in these three fights as a professional boxer. He then went to South America and completed six more fights in Brazil and Argentina from 1935 to 1937 against opponents largely unknown today, of which he won three fights and lost three fights. After his knockout defeat in the 1st round on February 27, 1937 in Buenos Aires against Francisco Suarez, he did not contest a fight.
In total, he played only nine fights as a professional boxer, of which he won four and lost three. He boxed twice in a draw.
