Josef "Beppo" Schlickenrieder (born May 7, 1958 in Bad Tölz ) is a former German ice hockey player . Among other things, he was a goalkeeper at the Mannheim ERC .

career

Schlickenrieder originally came from the offspring of SC Reichersbeuern and began his professional career in 1978/79 at EC Bad Tölz . After he moved to EHC 70 Munich in the 2nd ice hockey Bundesliga in 1979 , he was promoted to the Bundesliga with this club . After two seasons at EV Füssen , he moved to Mannheim ERC in 1983 . With the team he was runner-up three times in ten seasons . In total he played 433 times for the team from Mannheim . During his career in Mannheim, he also played at three world championships and at the 1988 Olympic Games in Calgary . In 1993 he moved to EC Hannover and rose to the ice hockey Bundesliga with this team. After two more years in the DEL with the team from Hanover , he moved to the second ice hockey Bundesliga at EC Bad Nauheim for two years . In 1998 he ended his career there as a player and became a coach at EC Bad Tölz. Other coaching stations were the Munich Barons and the Hamburg Freezers , both teams from the DEL . He was also the sporting director of the Eisbären Regensburg until April 2008 . In 2009 and 2010, Schlickenrieder worked at TEV Miesbach as a junior trainer. In October 2011 he took over as coach of the club's senior team. For the 2015/16 season he took over the coaching position at SC Reichersbeuern.

Schlickenrieder is a cousin of the former ski racer Michaela Gerg .
