Josef Wittwer

Josef Wittwer (born March 19, 1930 in Bark ; † March 6, 1970 ) was a German politician ( CDU ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

After finishing elementary school and completing an administration apprenticeship, Josef Wittwer worked as an employee and civil servant in local government. Since 1957 he was a civil servant in the city of Kelkheim (Taunus) .

politics

Josef Wittwer had been a member of the CDU since 1950 and was active there in various board positions. He was a member of the CDU Main-Taunus district executive from 1954 and its district chairman from 1959 to 1966. In addition to his commitment in the party, he was also active in the Junge Union . From 1956 to 1959 he was district chairman of the Junge Union Main-Taunus and from 1958 to 1963 district chairman of the Junge Union West-Hessen.

In terms of local politics, he was the first alderman of the municipality of Kriftel . He later became mayor of the Kriftel community for many years.

Since 1960 he has been a member of the district council in the Main-Taunus district and chairman of the CDU parliamentary group there. Furthermore, he was a member and deputy group chairman of the association assembly of the regional planning community Untermain.

For three electoral terms he was a member of the Hessian state parliament from September 1, 1960 until his untimely death on March 6, 1970. In 1964 he was a member of the 4th Federal Assembly .

Honors

The Josef Wittwer House in Kriftel is named after Josef Wittwer.
