Josefskapelle (Hardheim)

The Josefskapelle is a Roman Catholic path chapel in Hardheim in the Neckar-Odenwald district in the north of Baden-Württemberg , which was built in 1718 in the Baroque style.

history

The Hardheim Josefskapelle was built in 1718 and inaugurated on September 8, 1718 by the Bronnbach abbot Joseph Hartmann. With her, the old pilgrimage route to Walldürn and the former route to Amorbach separated . As a souvenir of this there is still a cross at this point. Since 1901, a station path has led from the Hardheim stone mill to the Josefskapelle, which is still used today by many pilgrims who are on foot on their way to Walldürn.

location

The baroque chapel is located a little away from the village on an ascent of the B 27 in the direction of Höpfingen , right next to a rest area where a more than 400 year old linden tree grows.

Interior

The Josefskapelle has a wood-carved altarpiece by the Gamburger sculptor Buscher. It shows the death of Saint Joseph . On the right is a memorial plaque for the citizens of Hardheim (1871) and on the ceiling there is a Christ monogram IHS .

Exterior fittings

The outside of the chapel was renovated in 1983 by the Kolping Family Hardheim.
