Joseph Benedict
Joseph Franz Stephan Benedict (born March 23, 1809 in Strasbourg (Carinthia) , † February 17, 1880 in Vienna ) was an Austrian lawyer and politician .
After studying law in Vienna and Padua between 1827 and 1832, Benedict received his doctorate in 1835. He was court and court advocate first in Vienna, since 1849 in Mauer near Vienna .
Benedict was a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly for the 5th constituency of Carinthia in Spittal an der Drau from July 1, 1848 to April 13, 1849 . He was a member of the casino faction and rejected the election of the Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm IV. As emperor.
