Joseph Enakarhire (born November 6, 1982 in Warri ) is a Nigerian football player .
The defender was most recently under contract with the Latvian club FC Daugava Daugavpils . He has not been listed as a player at any club since 2013.
Career
society
In his youth, Enakarhire played for the Warri Frangers in his Nigerian homeland before he received his first professional contract with Rangers International in 1998 at the age of 16 . He played for two seasons at Jay Jay Okocha's former club . During this time the first European clubs became aware of him. In the summer of 1999 he moved to Standard Liège in Belgium on a free transfer . In the first year he still had problems and was not given a chance to play. But already in the second year he was able to play in the starting eleven and completed 25 games (1 goal). In the following two years 50 more games were added. For the 2004/05 season he decided to move and signed with the traditional Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon (19 games). However, he was not happy there and after a year moved to the Premier League in Russia . The transfer fee at the time was six million euros. Dynamo Moscow was the new employer . For the Russians, he played nine games in a year and a half and scored one goal. In the summer of 2006, Moscow decided to borrow the central defender . Bordeaux showed interest and signed him for the 2005-06 season. In 2007 Enakarhire played for Panathinaikos Athens .
National team
Enakarhire went through the youth teams of Nigeria. Among other things, he took part in the 1999 Meridian Cup with the U-17. In November 2002 he made his international debut for the A team of Nigeria . The opponent at the time was the selection of Jamaica . In 2004, during the Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia , he scored his first international goal for the Eagles against Zimbabwe . Two years later, at the Africa Cup in Egypt in 2006 , he was considered a weak point in the central defense. Nigeria were eliminated 1-0 against Ivory Coast in the semi-finals .
