Joseph Eppich

Joseph Eppich (* 1823 ; † after 1857) was an Austrian theater actor , operetta and opera singer ( tenor ).

Life

Eppich, the older brother of the opera singer Franz Eppich (1835-1893), made his debut in 1847 at the Graz Theater.

He then worked at the Brno Theater from 1849 to 1850, at the Lviv Opera House from 1850 to 1851, at the Hamburg Opera House from 1851 to 1856 and at the Frankfurt Opera House from 1856 to 1859 .

In 1858 he lost his voice and had to withdraw from the stage entirely.

Notable roles are the "Joseph" in the opera of the same name by Méhul, the "Raoul" in Huguenots by Giacomo Meyerbeer , the title hero in the Prophet , also Meyerbeer, and the "Walther" in woman loyalty .
