Joseph Lee Han-taek

Joseph Lee Han-taek SJ (born December 5, 1934 in Anseong , then Japanese Empire , now South Korea ) is a South Korean clergyman of the Roman Catholic Church and former bishop of Uijongbu .

Life

Joseph Lee Han-taek joined the Congregation of the Jesuits in and received on 9 June 1971, the priestly ordination .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Seoul and titular bishop of Thibuzabetum on November 19, 2001 . The Archbishop of Seoul and Apostolic Administrator of Pyongyang , Nicholas Cardinal Cheong Jin-Suk , ordained him episcopal on January 25 the next year ; Co - consecrators were Andreas Choi Chang-mou , Archbishop of Gwangju and John Chang-yik , Bishop of Chuncheon .

On July 5, 2004, he was appointed bishop of Uijongbu. On February 26, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
