The Diocese of Uijongbu ( Latin: Dioecesis Uiiongbuensis , Kor. 천주교 의정부 교구) is a Roman Catholic diocese in South Korea , which was established by Pope John Paul II on June 24, 2004 in a part of the Archdiocese of Seoul and subordinated to the same Metropolitan Archdiocese as a suffragan diocese . It separates the North Korean and South Korean halves of the Archdiocese of Seoul.
The diocese of Uijongbu includes the cities of Uijeongbu , Goyang , Guri , Hwaseong , Paju , Tongducho-Yangju and Yeonchin . It borders the Diocese of Chuncheon to the east and the Archdiocese of Seoul to the north, south, southwest and southeast.
