Joseph Lippl

Joseph Lippl (born May 25, 1876 in Schöfweg ; † November 16, 1935 in Regensburg ) was a German Old Testament scholar and professor at the Philosophical-Theological University of Regensburg .

Lippl was ordained a Catholic priest in Passau in 1900 . He then went on to study in Munich up to a Dr. theol. in December 1901. After various positions in the community service, he went to the clerical seminary in Passau in 1903 . In April 1914 he was appointed professor for exegesis of the OT, biblical hermeneutics and the Hebrew language in Regensburg. In November 1933 he signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler .
