Josef Rösl

Josef Rösl (also Josef Roesl , born January 20, 1853 in Munich , † May 1, 1931 in Ammerland ) was a German painter.

After private lessons with Rudolf von Seitz, Josef Rösl was a student at the Munich Royal Academy of Fine Arts from April 26, 1872 with Ludwig von Löfftz and Wilhelm von Lindenschmit the Elder. J. After graduating, he went on study trips to Italy and Paris.

He dealt with genre and glass painting as well as the arts and crafts. He also designed interior murals, including for the New Munich City Hall and in the church in Weilheim / Obb .

He was also known for his depictions of fish.

His grave is in the old south cemetery .
