Joseph Siebert

Christoph Joseph Siebert (born September 2, 1804 in Hadamar ; † January 6, 1878 there ) was a German businessman and member of parliament.

Siebert was the son of the town councilor Franz Joseph * Siebert (born August 17, 1776 in Hadamar; † February 18, 1818 ibid) and Elisabeth * Anna Martina nee Verhas (born March 24, 1764 in Hadamar; † May 15, 1830 ibid) , the daughter of Joseph Ignatz Verhas and Johanna Katharina Schwertz.

Siebert, who was a Catholic denomination, married Maria (Marianne) Josepha * Walburga Schneider (* July 10, 1803 in Hadamar; † August 8, 1838 ibid) on November 9, 1826 in Hadamar, daughter of the innkeeper Joseph Schneider and Katharina * Aloysia Ohlenschläger.

After the death of his first wife, he married Klara Leopoldine * née Engert (born January 19, 1820 in Montabaur; † after 1874), daughter of the district administrator and state high school supervisor Sebastian Engert and Gertrude Schell, on December 19, 1839 in Hadamar .

The son from his first marriage, Franz Eduard Joseph Siebert (1832–1895), became a notary and also a member of parliament. The grandson Fritz Siebert (1865–1935) also became a notary and member of the municipal council.

Siebert was the owner of a grocery wholesaler in Hadamar. From 1869 he was a reindeer.

From 1846–1848 he was a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Landtag of the Duchy of Nassau , elected from the group of landowners in the constituency of Dillenburg. In 1848 he was a member of the Frankfurt pre-parliament . 1848–1849 he was a member of the assembly of estates of the Duchy of Nassau for the constituency V Hadamar / Wallmerod until he resigned his mandate.

He was a member of the municipal council, the field court and the district council in Hadamar. Later he was a member of the district council of the Oberlahnkreis and the Landesbank directorate . In 1864 he was one of the founding members of the Chamber of Commerce in Limburg an der Lahn .

1868–1877 he was a member of the Nassau Municipal Parliament of the Prussian administrative district of Wiesbaden and the Provincial Parliament of the Prussian Province of Hesse-Nassau for the Oberlahnkreis.
