Joseph Utz

Joseph Utz (born May 6, 1813 in Ellwangen ; † May 7, 1891 in Reute ) was a Catholic clergyman and a member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Utz attended elementary school in Ellwangen from 1819 and the local grammar school from 1822 to 1828. He then attended the Konvikt in Ehingen from 1828 to 1832 and the Royal Wilhelmsstift in Tübingen between 1832 and 1836. In 1837 he was ordained a priest at the seminary in Rottenburg . He was vicar in Ehingen from 1837 to 1840, parish administrator in Ergenzingen from 1840 to 1842 and chaplain from 1843 to 1847. He was also the city's local school inspector and religious teacher at the private school teacher seminar. From 1848 to 1862 he was pastor and district school inspector of the Ellwangen district and from 1863 to 1865 pastor in Zwiefaltenand chaplain at the insane asylum there and finally pastor in Tomerdingen since 1865 .

From 1881 to 1887 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Württemberg 15 ( Ehingen , Blaubeuren , Laupheim , Münsingen ) and the German Center Party .
