Josette Simon

Josette Patricia Simon OBE (* 1960 in Leicester , England ) is a British actress .

life and career

She received her first training at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London . One of the highlights of her acting career was the role of Dr. Ramphele, a close friend of the South African civil rights activist Steve Biko in the film Cry Freedom (Orig .: Cry Freedom, 1987 ).

She married Mark Padmore in 1996, but separated again in 2004. They have one child together.

Awards

In 1995 she received a Master of Arts Honors Degree from the University of Leicester .

In 2000 she received the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her contribution to the English language drama .
