Joshua Khiry Malone (* 21st March 1996 in Chattanooga , Tennessee ) is an American American football poker players. He plays the position of wide receiver for the New York Jets in the National Football League (NFL).
Early years
Malone played football for the bison at Camp High School Station in Gallatin , Tennessee. His good performance in his senior year led to an invitation to the 2014 US Army All-American Game.
college
After nine appearances in the first and ten in the second year of college at the University of Tennessee , in the third year he played all twelve regular season games as well as the final, in which he scored five pass catches for 120 yards and a touchdown . The Tennessee Volunteers with Josh Malone and u. a. Running back Alvin Kamara won the so-called Music City Bowl 38:24 against Nebraska.
After the season, Malone decided to leave college a year early to attend the 2017 NFL Draft . There he was selected in the fourth round by the Cincinnati Bengals in a total of 128th place as 18th wide receiver.
NFL
On May 17, 2017, Malone signed a four-year contract for nearly $ 3 million, of which nearly $ 600,000 was guaranteed.
After the preparation for the season he had to be satisfied with the role of wide receiver number five against strong competition in his own team. On October 22, 2017, he made his NFL debut (Regular Season) in a 14:29 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers . The following week he scored his first professional touchdown in a 24:23 win over the Indianapolis Colts .
Before the start of the 2019 season , he was put on the Bengals' waiver list and later accepted into their Practice Squad by the New York Jets . On December 19, he was promoted to the active squad.
