Josh Ostrovsky (born February 14, 1982 in New York City ) is an American Internet comedian.

Life

Joshua Ostrovsky grew up in a middle-class Jewish immigrant family in the Upper West Side , his mother Rebecca works as a nutritionist, his father Saul Ostrovsky was born in Russia and works as a radiologist . He broke off his studies at Skidmore College and New York University , and in 2004 began studying journalism at the State University of New York (SUNY) in Albany, New York . In 2009 he joined the rapper group “Team Facelift” and in 2010 decided to become a comedian in social media . He opened an account on Instagram , which was subsequently banned three times, most recently in 2013, due to improper content, and he was able to mobilize supporters to lift the bans. His account had 5.2 million followers in 2015 . His advertisers range between Burger King , Stella Artois and Virgin Mobile , all of whom, according to his interview with the Financial Times in July 2015, are willing to pay $ 6,000 for a name drop . He also appears under the stage name "The fat jew".
