Joshua Dean Windass (born January 9, 1994 in Kingston upon Hull ) is an English football player who plays for Wigan Athletic . He is the son of former soccer player Dean Windass .

Career

Josh Windass was born in Kingston upon Hull in northeastern England in 1994 . His father Dean Windass played for Hull City during this time . Josh Windass began his career in the youth of Huddersfield Town . In July 2013, the 19-year-old signed his first professional contract with the English fourth division club Accrington Stanley . For the club he made his debut in November 2013 in the 1st round of the English Cup against the Tranmere Rovers , which also meant his professional debut. In his first season 2013/14 Windnass completed ten league games for Accrington, followed by 35 games in 2014/15 and 30 in 2015/16 . In the 2015/16 season he was the second best goalscorer in the team with 15 goals behind Billy Kee . In January, Windass and his teammate Matt Crooks signed a contract with the Glasgow Rangers , which ran from the 2016/17 season. In August 2018 he moved to Wigan Athletic .
