The Journal of Biomedical Optics (abbreviated to ISO 4 : J. Biomed. Opt. , Often also abbreviated as JBO) is a monthly peer-reviewed specialist journal whose main topic is the use of optical technologies in biomedical research, diagnostics and therapy . These include, for example, laser applications , optical biosensors , endoscopy and microscopy . Scientific editor ( editor-in-chief ) of the journal is Lihong V. JBO has been published monthly since 2011; previously, an issue had appeared every two months since it was founded in 1996.
