Fritz Alfred Zimmer

Fritz Alfred Zimmer (born November 26, 1880 in Schöneck / Vogtl. , † April 17, 1954 in Bernsbach ) was a German teacher and poet.

Life

He was born in the Saxon Vogtland , where he attended school. In 1895 he went to the Royal Teachers' College in Annaberg . There he began his first attempts at poetry. 1903 they first appeared in the newly imposed Saxon legends book by Alfred Meiche in pressure. More than 1000 publications followed. The poet Julius Mosen was at the center of his scientific research .

In 1901 he finished the teachers' seminar and worked as an assistant teacher in Raun in the Vogtland until 1904 . Then he got a job as a teacher, later as a senior teacher at today's Georgengymnasium in Zwickau , where he worked for almost 30 years. He also worked for many years on the board of the Saxon Teachers' Association. After the seizure of power by the Nazis, he was dismissed from the teaching service 1,933th Since his son was working as a dentist in Bernsbach , he moved to this in the Upper Ore Mountains . Eleven of his books were written in Bernsbach, including his standard work on Julius Mosen, which was published by Heimatwerk Sachsen in 1938 .

After the end of the Second World War , he joined the LDPD . At the age of over 65 he was appointed to the district school council in Aue (Saxony) and also taught at the adult education center. Due to his increasing hearing loss, he had to give up his teaching profession in 1949.
