Juan Bautista Topete y Carballo (born May 24, 1821 in Tlacotalpa / Yucatán , † October 31, 1885 in Madrid ) was a Spanish admiral and politician .

Topete y Carballo entered the Navy in 1835 . He commanded the Spanish fleet in the war against Morocco in 1860 , then distinguished himself in the war against Peru , became rear admiral and port captain of Cádiz in 1867 and, together with generals Juan Prim and Francisco Serrano , triggered the revolution of September 1868, which caused the controversy Queen Isabella II was deposed.
