Ramón Silva , full name Juan Ramón Silva , (born August 30, 1948 ) is a former Uruguayan football player and current coach.

Player career

Offensive player Silva was part of the Peñarols squad in the Primera División from 1972 to 1977 . With the Aurinegros he won the Uruguayan championship in 1973, 1974 and 1975 and the Trofeo Teresa Herrera in 1974 and 1974 . The Montevideo club also won the Liguilla Pre-Libertadores in this phase in 1974, 1975 and 1977 . Then Silva's way led to Ecuador . There he played from 1977 to 1981 at Universidad Católica de Quito . In 1981 he was also under contract with Independiente Medellín in Colombia . The last career stations are Emelec 1982 to 1983 and Asociación Deportiva 9 de Octubre in 1984 .

National team

Silva was a member of the senior national team of Uruguay , for which he completed 13 international matches between March 23, 1974 and March 10, 1976. He scored an international goal. Silva took part in the 1974 World Cup with Uruguay . There it was not used in the course of the competition. He was also a member of the Uruguayan squad at the 1975 Copa America .

After his active career, Silva started a career as a coach. In 2001 he worked in this capacity at River Plate Montevideo . From June 2011 to July 2011 he trained the CS Emelec . From January 2015 to June 2015 he held the coaching position at SD Aucas .
