Juan Salazar Sancisi
Juan Rodrigo Salazar Sancisi (* 5. August 1949 in Buenos Aires ) is an Ecuadorian diplomat in retirement .
Life
He joined the foreign service of Ecuador and was employed at the Embassy in Vienna from October 1977 to August 1982 , where he was appointed Legation Councilor by the second-class legation secretary in May 1980 and at the same time, from August 1980 to September 1982, Deputy Representative of the Mission of Ecuador at UNIDO and Deputy Representative of Ecuador at the International Atomic Energy Agency .
From 1983 to 1984 he was Chief of Protocol of the Ecuadorian Presidential Office. From August 1986 to September 1990 he was deputy permanent representative next to the UN headquarters . From October 1990 to August 1994 he was State Secretary in the Foreign Ministry in Quito .
From August 1994 to May 1997 he was ambassador to Moscow . From June 1997 to April 2000 he was ambassador to Tokyo and at the same time accredited to the government in Jakarta and Manila .
From November 2000 to April 2003 he headed the Instituto Ecuatoriano de Cooperación Internacional, which accompanies the development cooperation of the Ecudorian Foreign Ministry.
From May 2003 to October 2005 he was ambassador to Paris . From October 2005 to 2006 he was ambassador to Budapest . From February 6, 2018 to June 25, 2019, he was Ambassador to Canberra and was simultaneously accredited to the governments in Wellington and Suva . He was a member of the delegation to conferences of SELA , ECLAC , OPEC and OPEC-Fund and OAS . In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he was Head of Department, Director of Economic Studies, Advisor to the Secretary of State for Africa, Asia and Oceania.
Academic activities
He graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador with a degree in economics . He holds a Masters in Economic Integration Law from the Universidad Central de Venezuela .
He is professor of the departments: International Negotiations and / or Conflict Resolution, Economic Integration of Asia and Africa, Protocol and Etiquette at the Universidad Internacional del Ecuador and the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar . He taught at the Instituto de Altos Estudios Nacionales (IAEN) in Quito, at the Diplomatic Academy of Ecuador and at the War Academy.
He is married to Nancy Donoso de Salazar, their daughters are Isabella Sofía (November 17, 2004) and Andrea Gabriella (January 10, 2006).
