Jukka Erätuli (* 11. February 1980 in Espoo ) is a former Finnish Freestyle - snowboarders and was one of the most dominant athletes in the discipline Big Air in the first half of the 2000s -years.

Career

Initially, Erätuli concentrated on the halfpipe . In this discipline he reached fourth place at the FIS Junior World Championships in 1997 in Lizzano in Belvedere and was Finnish champion in 1999. After making his debut in the Snowboard World Cup in Tignes on November 18, 2000 , he jumped for the first time in the related discipline of Big Air on December 11, 2001 in Whistler and was able to secure victory immediately. In the course of the following years he won the corresponding World Cup twice; In total, he achieved seven World Cup victories in Big Air - a figure that only Austrian Stefan Gimpl has surpassed so far .

Erätuli's participation in the FIS Snowboard World Championships was less successful . Both in 2003 in Kreischberg and in 2005 in Whistler he only finished fourth on the halfpipe.
