Jukka Linkola
Jukka Tapio Linkola (born July 21, 1955 in Espoo ) is a Finnish jazz pianist , conductor and composer .
Life
Jukka Linkola studied piano and composition at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki from 1972 to 1980 . In the 1970s Linkola made a name for himself both as a jazz pianist and composer and as a band leader in various big bands, including UMO Jazz Orchestra , EBU Big Band, Danish Radio Big Band , Bohuslän Big Band. Linkola started as a répétiteur at the Helsinki City Theater in 1975 as a student . He later became a conductor there and held the position of Kapellmeister from 1979 to 1992. Linkola has been working as a freelance composer and musician in Helsinki since 1992.
