Jules Christian Dang Akodo (born May 2, 1996 ) is a British basketball player of Cameroon descent.
career
Akodo grew up in London and came into contact with basketball as a student at Stockwell Park High School. At the age of 14 he moved to the youth department of the top Slovenian club KK Union Olimpija in Ljubljana . During the 2013/14 season he received his first short appearances in the Slovenian first division.
For the 2014/15 season, Akodo went to the youth division of the German Bundesliga club Skyliners Frankfurt , played for the U19 team in the youth basketball league and the second men's team of the Hesse in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB .
Akodo left Frankfurt after a year, followed by positions at the Slovenian first division club KK Škofja Loka , where he posted an average of 8.6 points, and at the Spanish second division club CB Miraflores in Burgos , for whom he scored an average of 1.2 points in 16 games this season. During his time there, Akodo also played for the fourth division club Basket Burgos 2002 thanks to a second game right (26 games: 14.9 points on average).
At the beginning of the 2017/18 season, Akodo initially played in Burgos, then moved back to the Skyliners Frankfurt in October. He came back to the second men's team in the ProB and was also included in the extended Bundesliga squad. At the beginning of December 2017 he was used for the first time in the basketball Bundesliga . At the beginning of November 2018, Akodo left Frankfurt and moved to the British first division club London City Royals. Until then he had played a total of eleven Bundesliga games and played primarily in Frankfurt's second team, for which he averaged 14.4 points per use in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB in the 2017/18 season (best scorer of the team ahead of Isaac Bonga ), 4.9 assists, 3.9 rebounds and two ball wins (in 20 games) as well as 7.2 points, 3.8 basket assists, 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 ball wins per game in five matches in the 2018/19 season.
In autumn 2019 Akodo moved within the English league to the City Royals' city rivals, the London Lions .
National team
Akodo ran in the junior area for the British national teams and took part in several European championships and in spring 2014 in the Albert Schweitzer tournament .
In the summer of 2017, he played his first full international match for Great Britain against Ukraine . He was part of the British squad for the 2017 European Championship , but was not used during the tournament.
