Jules Février actually Pierre Barthélémy Victor Jules Février (born September 4, 1842 in Membrey , Haute-Saône , † January 23, 1937 in Paris ) was a French architect.

Live and act

Février was a son of the architect François Jules Février (1811-1892) and his wife Fanny de Nervaux (1818-1901).

After successfully completing his schooling, Février entered the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in 1862 and graduated as the best with the class of 1867. During his training as an architect, Simon-Claude Constant-Dufeux (1801-1870) was one of his key teachers.

Février married Anaïs Despaulx (1851–1923) in Paris in 1875 and had two sons with her: Henry (1875–1957) the later composer and Raymond (1878–1952), who later designed some things as an architect with his father.

Professionally, Février worked as an architect of large finance and insurance companies and also built private houses, such as the More Hôtel Gaillard in Paris, the house of Sarah Bernhardt . In Madrid he and his son Raymond built what is now the Metropolis House for the La Union y El Fenix insurance company .

Jules Février died on January 23, 1937 in Paris and found his final resting place (13th division) in the Père Lachaise cemetery .
