Jules Léon Flandrin (born July 9, 1871 in Corenc , † March 25, 1947 ibid) was a French genre, portrait and landscape painter.

Jules Flandrin came to Paris in 1893. From 1895 he was a student at the École ds beaux-arts de Paris and a student of Gustave Moreau and Pierre Puvis de Chavannes .

From 1896 he exhibited his works at the Salon of the Société nationale des beaux-arts and became a member in 1898. From 1905 he also exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Indépendants and the Salon d'Automne .

He was commissioned to decorate the church of Corenc. His work was influenced by Paul Cézanne and Maurice Denis . In addition to painting, he dealt with lithography and etching.

At the end of the 19th century, Jules Flandrin lived in Montparnasse in the rue Campagne-Première in free liaison with the painter Jacqueline Marval , later married the painter Henriette Delores and had a son.

In 1912 he was awarded the Legion of Honor.

During the First World War he worked as a war painter.

Around 1930 he moved to the Dauphiné in south-eastern France. In 1941 he moved back to his hometown of Corenc.
