Julia Butters (born April 15, 2009 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actress . She gained fame through the role of the self-confident child actress Trudi Fraser from the film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood , for which she received a lot of critical acclaim.

life and career

Julia Butters was born in Los Angeles to an animator and a housewife. She has been in commercials since she was two. At the age of four, she had her first speaking role in front of the camera with an appearance on the series Criminal Minds . This was followed by appearances in the series Best Friends - At Any Time and in 2016 in the action film 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi .

From 2015 to 2016 she took on a recurring role as Ella in the series Transparent . In the film Term Life she took on the role of Cate Barrow , played by Hailee Steinfeld in her teenage years . Since 2016 she can be seen in the series American Housewife as Anna-Kat Otto in a leading role.

In 2019 she was cast in the role of child actress Trudi Fraser by Quentin Tarantino in his Once Upon a Time in Hollywood , in which she works on the series Lancer alongside Rick Dalton, portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio . Her portrayal earned her a lot of praise from critics. Tarantino discovered her while watching an episode of American Housewife .
