Julia Ronge

Julia Ronge (* 1970 ) is a musicologist and Beethoven - researcher .

Live and act

Julia Ronge completed studies in musicology and history at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg and the Université de Paris-Sorbonne (Paris IV) , where she graduated as Maîtrise de Musicologie in 1994 . She received her doctorate in 2010 from the Technical University of Berlin with a thesis on Beethoven's composition studies.

At the Beethoven-Haus Bonn, she worked on the project “The digital Beethoven-Haus” from 2002 to 2004, where she was responsible for the descriptions of the manuscripts in the catalog, the introductions to the works, “Worth knowing” texts and summaries of letters in the “Digital Archive”. From 2005 to 2007 she worked on the project “Hallo Beethoven” in the conception and the texts for the children's website. In 2008 she was a research assistant at the Beethoven Archive and was also a lecturer for the Beethoven-Haus Bonn publishing house from August 2010 to the end of 2017.

From 1999 to 2014 she was co-editor of the 2014 revised Beethoven catalog raisonné by Georg Kinsky and Hans Halm (1955).
Ronge has been curator of the collections in the Beethoven-Haus since 2018 .
