LEDA / PGC 47944 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Virgo to the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 568 million light years from the Milky Way . Presumably it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair with IC 901 .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 5221 , NGC 5226 , NGC 5230 , IC 898 .
