Julia Sayer (born May 27, 1987 in Atlanta , Georgia ) is a German - American handball and beach handball player .

Career

The daughter of a German mother and a British father grew up in Germany when she was five. Used as the middle and left backcourt player, Sayer played from 1997 to 2006 at TVE Skirts and then moved to the upper division TSV Hahlen . In 2013 she rose with the club in the 3rd division . In October 2014, she played her last game, as she moved to New York City for work . In November 2017 she was reactivated by the second team of TSV and played again in the Oberliga team from March 2018 until the end of the 2018/19 season. She is currently taking another break from handball.

Because of her dual citizenship, Sayer got the opportunity to play for the US national team in 2009 . She took part with the team in the Pan American Games in 2011 and 2019 . She has played a total of 23 international matches so far.

In 2010 she was also the German beach handball champion with the Stranddeko Minden team.

As a trainer, she looked after the A and B junior teams at TSV Hahlen.
