Juliane Maier (born April 9, 1987 in Villingen-Schwenningen ) is a German soccer player .
Soccer
The midfielder has been playing for Bundesliga club SC Freiburg since 2006 . Maier began her career at FC Klengen and came to SC Freiburg via SV Titisee .
Maier went through the U-19 and U-20 national teams. On July 22, 2006 , she became European champion with the German U-19 national team.
At the subsequent U-20 World Cup, Maier, who played all four games on the left full-back position, scored a goal.
She was elected team captain in the 2013/2014 season and has been Laura Benkarth's deputy since the 2014/2015 season. After the 2016/2017 season, she ended her professional career and joined the fourth division club Alemannia Zähringen.
Personal
Maier graduated from high school at Romäusring in Villingen in 2006 . She studied sport and mathematics for teaching at the University of Freiburg . She is currently working as a teacher at a vocational high school in Freiburg.
