Julie Elizabeth Karn (* 26. January 1996 ) is a Canadian soccer player on the midfield position , which in the season 2019/20 at FF USV Jena was under contract.

Career

Karn began playing soccer in 2004 at the age of 8 with the Huntsville Strikers , where she was active until 2005 before moving to Waterloo Phoenix . This was followed by further positions with the Burlington Tornados (2008-2010), the Brampton Angels (2010-2013) and the KW United FC (2013-2015). During her studies, she worked for the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks at Wilfrid Laurier University from 2014 to 2018 and for the Guelph Gryphons at the University of Guelph in the 2018/19 season .

At the end of July 2019, Karn was signed by the German Bundesliga promoted FF USV Jena . She signed a one-year contract with the Thuringians. She played her first game in the women's Bundesliga on the 3rd matchday of the 2019/20 season in a 2: 4 away defeat against 1. FFC Frankfurt . After Karn had only played 4 Bundesliga games due to injury and the FF USV Jena was relegated, Karn left the club again.

Karn studied kinesiology , in addition to her work as a soccer player, she also works as a professional dancer .
