Sarah Hornschuch (born August 7, 1998 in Hof ) is a German soccer player in the position of goalkeeper who has been under contract with FF USV Jena since 2018 .
Career
Hornschuch began playing football at FC Eintracht Münchberg and VfB Moschendorf . In 2012 she moved to 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig . On July 1, 2013, all women's and girls' teams left 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig due to financial problems and moved to FFV Leipzig . Hornschuch also joined this change and played for FFV Leipzig the following season. In 2014 she moved to 1. FC Union Berlin , for whom she played 15 games in the B-Juniorinnen-Bundesliga in the 2014/15 season . In October 2015 Hornschuch played two games for the Berlin U18 team. For the 2015/16 season she moved up to the first team of Union Berlin. She played a total of 3 DFB Cup games for the team until 2018 and 20 games in the 2nd women's Bundesliga in the 2016/17 season .
For the 2018/19 season, Hornschuch moved to the relegated Bundesliga FF USV Jena , with whom she managed to get promoted back to the women's Bundesliga . She stayed without conceding a goal in 11 of 26 games and subsequently extended her contract by one year to summer 2020. For the 2019/20 season, Jena signed Inga Schuldt, a new competitor for the space between the posts. Hornschuch initially remained number 1, but was replaced on the 11th matchday and only returned to the goal for the 16th matchday. After the break in the Bundesliga caused by the COVID-19 pandemic , Schuldt was back in the Jenaer Tor on matchday 17 (June 7, 2020) in the 6-0 defeat against SC Freiburg , Hornschuch was field player in the 83rd minute substituted in.
