Julie Kopacsy-Karczag , née Julie Kopacsy , also julie Kopacsy ( February 13, 1867 in Komorn , Austria-Hungary - January 26, 1957 in Vienna ) was a Hungarian opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Kopacsy was sent to Pest to see Adele Passy-Cornet for her vocal training as a coloratura singer.

She made her first appearance at the age of 15 as an oratorio singer in honor of the presence of Franz Liszt .

Karczag worked as an operetta soubrette in Debrezin in 1889 , at the Volkstheater in Budapest from 1891–94 , and at the Carltheater in Vienna from 1894–96 . She gave guest appearances in Berlin , America , Russia and Prague and then returned to Vienna.

She was married to Wilhelm Karczag and rests in the Hietzinger Friedhof , by her husband's side (group 38, row 1, number 1).
