Michael Schornstheimer

Michael Schornstheimer (* 1956 in Mainz ) is a German sociologist and journalist .

Life

Michael Schornstheimer studied sociology, economics, politics and psychology at the Free University of Berlin . After graduating in 1985, he did his doctorate in 1988 with a work on contemporary history in the Federal Republic of the 1950s, using the example of the magazines Quick and Stern . The abridged but illustrated new edition of Bomb Mood and Katzenjammer - The Processing of the National Socialist Era in the Fifties (1989) was published in 1995 under the title The shining eyes of the soldiers at the front - National Socialism and War in the Illustrated Novels of the Fifties by Metropol Verlag .

In 1989/1990 Michael Schornstheimer completed an editorial traineeship at Sender Freie Berlin . Since then he has been a freelance culture and science journalist in Berlin, mainly for ARD radio and DKultur. With the winter semester 2009/10 he also became a research assistant in the journalism department at the Institute for Communication and Media Studies at the University of Leipzig. He teaches budding radio and print journalists and heads the radio teaching staff.
