Juliette Béliveau (born October 28, 1889 in Nicolet , Québec , † August 26, 1975 in Montreal , Québec) was a Canadian actress .

Life

At the age of ten, Béliveau performed at the Monument-National Theater in La Meunière as part of Elzéar Roy's Soirées de famille and was called "la petite Sarah" (after Sarah Bernhardt ). In 1900 she made her debut at the Theater des Variétés in Adolphe d'Ennerys Deux Orphelins . In 1901 she played in La case de l'Oncle Tom at the Theater National under the direction of Paul Cazeneuve . The following year she appeared as a fanfan in Victorien Sardou's play La Famille Benoîton at the Théâtre Les Noveautés , and in 1903 she played the title role in Louis-Honoré Fréchettes Véronica .

After the closure of the Theater des Varietés , Béliveau appeared with the Companies des Conservatoire Lasalle and the Natioscope , and after their marriage in 1916 largely withdrew from theater work.

In the early 1920s she took for the label Starr and numerous vaudeville numbers. a. with Elzéar Hamel , Alexandre Desmarteaux , Eugène Daignault , Ovila Légaré and above all J. Hervey Germain , with whom she had already been on the stage of the Ouimetoscope for 52 weeks in the play Les Aventures d'Aglaé in 1919 .
