Julija Alexandrowna Portunowa ( Russian Ю́лия Алекса́ндровна Портуно́ва , English Yulia Portunova , born May 4, 1994 in Kaliningrad ) is a Russian curler . She currently plays in Anna Sidorova's team .

Career

Portunowa started her international career at the Junior World Championship 2013 as fourth in the team of Skip Alina Kowaljowa . The Russian juniors advanced to the final and beat Scotland there. At the Junior World Championship 2014 the title defense does not get; Portunowa came in third with the Russian team.

In 2016 she played as a substitute for the Russian national team led by Viktorija Moissejewa at the 2017 European Championships in St. Gallen. She won the gold medal by beating the Swedish team of Skip Anna Hasselborg . After the Round Robin her team was only fourth, but could defeat the Scottish team of Eve Muirhead in the semi-finals and so move into the final.

At the Winter Universiade 2017 she was the lead of the Russian team under Viktorija Moissejewa and won the silver medal.

In December 2017, she and the Moissejewa team won the Russian elimination tournament for participation in the 2018 Winter Olympics against Anna Sidorova's team with 4-1 games and competed under the banner of the Olympic Athletes from Russia in Pyeongchang . As a substitute for the Russian team, she was used twice and finished ninth with her teammates after two wins and seven defeats in the Round Robin .

At the 2018 World Cup in North Bay , Canada , she played at the position of third under Skip Viktorija Moissejewa. After a loss in the semifinals against the Swedish team around Anna Hasselborg, she and the Russian team beat the US team around Jamie Sinclair in the game for third place and won the silver medal. Since Moissejewas retired from active curling, she has played in Anna Sidorova's team.
