Julius Dürr
Julius Dürr (born June 20, 1856 in Schwäbisch Hall , † December 28, 1925 there ) was a German classical philologist and high school teacher .
Dürr attended the Lyceum in Schwäbisch Hall and the humanistic grammar school in Stuttgart until he graduated from high school in 1874. From autumn 1875 he studied classical philology and history in Tübingen , from autumn 1877 in Leipzig and from autumn 1878 in Vienna ; here he was a member of the archaeological-epigraphic seminar with Otto Hirschfeld and Otto Benndorf . During his studies in Tübingen he became a member of the Academic Association Virtembergia. In 1880 he received his doctorate in Leipzig with a thesis on the trips of the emperor Hadrian . In 1880/81 he received a travel grant from the German Archaeological Institute . He then worked in the Württemberg school service, initially in Cannstatt , and from 1891 in Ulm .
