Julius Indrišiūnas

Julius Indrišiūnas (born August 6, 1901 in Peluodžiai ( Rajongemeinde Pakruojis ), Pašvitinis County , Lithuania ; † January 4, 1945 in Kirow , Soviet Union ) was a Lithuanian lawyer and politician , Minister of Finance of Lithuania .

Life

From 1919 to 1923 he was a volunteer in the Lithuanian Army . In 1927 he graduated from the law faculty of Lietuvos universitetas (VDU) in Kaunas . From 1924 to 1925 and 1927 he was a teacher at the Vilkija Middle School . From 1928 to 1932 worked as a lawyer. In 1930 he was appointed chief notary in the Kaunas District Court. From 1933 to 1938 he worked as Secretary General in the Ministry of Finance . From 1936 to 1940 he was a member of Seimas , deputy chairman of parliament. From 1938 to 1939 he was Minister of Finance of Lithuania. In 1940 he was arrested by the NKVD and sentenced in 1941.

He was a member of Lietuvių tautininkų sąjunga , chairwoman of the court of honor of the student corporation “ Neo-Lithuania ”.
