Junior Docs (own spelling: jUNIOR DOCS ) is a German television series of the ZDF division program ZDFneo . The documentary series was first broadcast on Thursday , September 27, 2012 - Prime Time at 8:15 p.m. A second season was shown at the end of 2013, a third season was not produced.
The model for the series is the BBC production Junior Doctors - Your life in their hands .

The series shows the everyday working life of young interns in various Hamburg clinics. This gives an insight into the first aid in the emergency room , the ward work, the service on the emergency doctor vehicle and the operating room. Resident doctors from various specialties are accompanied .
In the first season the spectrum ranged from rheumatology , gynecology , anesthesia , trauma surgery , urology and internal medicine to ear, nose and throat medicine . In the second season, the spectrum comprised the fields of cardiac surgery , gynecology, anesthesia, trauma surgery, urology, abdominal surgery and pediatric and adolescent medicine .

Junior Docs has often been sharply criticized, the Berliner Zeitung said on September 27, 2012 in its article “JUNIOR DOCS” ON ZDFNEO - When the Achilles tendon tears , that it is surprising, given the many German models, that ZDFneo of all things the BBC Junior format Doctors as such. The title of the series is also unsuitable, as the doctors who accompany them are only allowed to take on minor tasks. It is true that dramatic moments such as a liver transplant with cardiac arrest are shown and the stressful everyday life of the young doctors is shown, but they are not seen enough in action. In addition, the prospective surgeon Elena Enderle was reprimanded, who asked Wikipedia instead of the senior physician on duty because of an Achilles tendon tear at an unusual point .
